Inductors FAQ Q What is the difference between the rated voltage and withstand voltage (absolute maximum voltage)?

A

The rated voltage is the upper limit value of the voltage at which it is acceptable to apply on a constant basis. The withstand voltage (absolute maximum voltage) is the voltage value that must not be exceeded even for an instant. Note that a rated voltage is not specified for inductors.
